Celebration of the Birth Anniversaries of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq (AS)

Commemoration hosted by the Cultural Section of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Colombo

On Tuesday, 9 September 2025, a ceremony marking the blessed birth anniversaries of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq (AS) was held at the Cultural Section of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Colombo.

The event was attended by H.E. the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Sri Lanka, Hojjat al-Islam Hatampouri, Representative of the Office of the Supreme Leader, members of the Embassy, Sri Lankan intellectuals and cultural figures, as well as members of the Shi’a community. The program included a traditional qasida recitation, followed by speeches delivered by the Representative of the Office of the Supreme Leader and several Sri Lankan writers and cultural activists.  

It is noteworthy that at the beginning of the ceremony, an exhibition of artistic works dedicated to the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet was inaugurated and presented to the participants.
