The heartbreaking and sorrowful news of the martyrdom of the distinguished intellectual, eminent diplomat, and enduring figure in the arena of foreign policy, H.E. Dr. Seyed Kamal Kharazi, has plunged all conscientious and aware individuals of this land into profound grief and shock. The loss of such a personality is not merely the passing of an individual, but the silencing of a part of the wisdom, experience, and composed voice of Iran’s diplomacy on the international stage.
Drawing upon years of close association and cooperation, I bear witness that he was among those rare figures who devoted their lives to the demanding and complex path of foreign policy with sincerity, patience, prudence, and a steadfast commitment to dignity. His tenure, particularly as Minister of Foreign Affairs and as Head of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, reflected a clear embodiment of rationality, depth of insight, and unwavering dedication to national interests. His name remains inseparably associated with the dignity of Iran’s diplomacy, principled engagement with the international community, and the sincere defense of the independence and honor of this nation.
At a time when the memory of that exceptional figure remains vivid, a deep sorrow has settled upon our hearts—a sorrow arising from the loss of those whose presence inspires hope and whose departure leaves a profound and painful void. Undoubtedly, his efforts and intellectual and diplomatic legacy will continue to serve as a guiding light in shaping the future course of the country’s foreign policy and will remain enduring and influential.
With a heart filled with grief, I extend my deepest condolences on this great loss to the Supreme Leader, the esteemed Kharazi family, his colleagues, and the academic and diplomatic community of the country. I pray to Almighty God to grant this noble martyr His boundless mercy, exalted rank, and companionship with the righteous.
