Celebration of Iman Mahdi’s birthday and Religious Conference on Justice

On Tuesday, 3 Feruary 2026, coinciding with the Ten-Day Dawn (Fajr) of the Islamic Revolution and on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance), the Mid-Sha‘ban celebration and a conference entitled “Global Justice in Religious Teachings; Responsibilities of Followers” were held at the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Colombo, with the participation of prominent scholars and intellectuals from the religions of Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Zoroastrianism.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Sri Lanka, the Cultural Counselor, and a number of members of the Embassy.

Addressing the conference, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while outlining the characteristics of those who await the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him), described the primary objective of his advent as the establishment of justice throughout the world. He also criticized the discrimination and injustices prevailing in international relations, citing the indifference of certain countries to the genocide of more than seventy thousand innocent people in Gaza by the Zionist regime as a clear example of such injustices.
