Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Interfering Remarks of U.S. Officials Regarding Iran 

      The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the interfering remarks made by the President and other U.S. officials concerning Iran’s internal affairs.

Such irresponsible positions, which constitute a continuation of the United States’ bullying and unlawful approach toward the Iranian nation, not only represent a flagrant violation of the fundamental principles and rules of the Charter of the United Nations and international law regarding respect for national sovereignty, but also amount to incitement to violence and terrorism against Iranian citizens.

      Recalling the long history of criminal interference by successive U.S. administrations in Iran’s affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers claims of concern for the great Iranian nation to be hypocritical, aimed at deceiving public opinion and covering up  the numerous crimes committed against Iranians. Complicity in planning and executing the disgraceful 1953 coup; cooperation with the Saddam regime during the eight-year war against Iran; the downing of Iran’s civilian passenger plane in 1988 and the killing of 300 innocent people over the Persian Gulf; complicity and partnership with the Israeli regime in attacks on vital infrastructure and safeguarded nuclear facilities of Iran in June 2025, as well as the assassination and killing of Iranians; and the decades-long unjust , cruel and inhumane sanctions targeting the fundamental rights and livelihoods of Iranians—all constitute clear examples of the United States’ hostility toward the Iranian people.

      The Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscores the duties and responsibilities of the United Nations Security Council and the Secretary-General, in accordance with the Charter, to safeguard international peace and security in the face of the United States’ aggressive unilateralism, and emphasizes that Iranians, through dialogue and engagement among themselves to resolve their issues, will not permit any malicious interference.

      The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assesses the threatening statements by U.S. officials against Iran as aligned with the Israeli regime’s policy of escalating tensions in the region, and stresses that the response of the Islamic Republic of Iran to any act of aggression will be swift, decisive, and comprehensive. It is evident that full responsibility for the consequences of such a situation, which could further plunge the entire region into crisis and instability, will rest entirely with the U.S. regime.
