Human society will never forget the suppliers of #chemical weapons to Saddam Hussein during the eight-year imposed war against Iran. Even today, the lungs and chests of our chemical warfare veterans are still plagued by the blisters of those chemical gases. Thirty-nine years ago today, the defenseless people of Sardasht fell victim to one of the century's most horrific crimes using chemical weapons, supplied to Saddam with Western support. The lingering consequences of this tragedy remind us that it's time for the international community to move beyond mere statements and commit to real accountability and responsibility.
