On the occasion of Muharram, The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Colombo held a spiritual ceremony with the participation of Sri Lankan Shia community members and embassy staff. The event featured Quran recitation, prayers, elegies, and chest-beating rituals. Speakers from Iran and Sri Lanka delivered remarks on the philosophy of Imam Hussein’s uprising against tyranny. The ceremony concluded with the observance of Sham-e-Ghariban.
