Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the British Government's Decision to Authorize the US of Its Bases and Facilities by the U.S. in the Illegal War Against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the decision made by the new British administration to place the country’s military bases and facilities at the disposal of the United States to prepare and facilitate illegal military attacks against the Iranian nation. This decision is in clear violation of the fundamental principles and rules of the United Nations Charter and international law, and pursuant to Article 3(f) of UN General Assembly Resolution 3314 on the Definition of Aggression, constitutes an act of aggression against Iran.
British policymakers have taken such a decision while fully aware that the US military attacks against Iran, which initiated with the participation of the occupying and genocidal Israeli regime and have continued to date, are a clear act of aggression and a flagrant violation of the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and peremptory norms of international law (jus cogens). Any participation and cooperation in the preparation and execution of these illegal attacks constitutes complicity in the commission of the crime of aggression and war crimes.
The British government, both in its national capacity and as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, instead of fulfilling its legal and moral obligations to condemn the military aggression and war crimes committed by the US and Israel against Iran, has sought to align itself with the aggressors and reduce the country's status to an accomplice of the US and Israel in a brutal war against the Iranian nation. Undeniably, this decision further discredits British claims of supporting the rule of law, human rights, and international peace and security.
The action of the British ruling establishment in aligning itself with the illegal US-Israeli war against Iran not only violates the international legal obligations of the British government to respect the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran, but also serves as a reminder of Britain's historical oppressions and interventions against the Iranian nation-the climax of which was the coup d'état of August 19, 1953 (28 Mordad 1332), and subsequently continued in the form of comprehensive support for Saddam's regime during the 8-year imposed war, illegal sanctions under the pretext of the nuclear issue, subservience to the US regarding the so-called "snapback" mechanism, and most recently, the absurd designation of the proud Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC).
The Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to defend its national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests and security against foreign aggression. Any party that participates in any manner in committing military aggression against Iran will be held responsible for the consequences and repercussions of its decision.
